The Karachi Region Inter-District Senior Tournament is set to begin on Monday, 20 April 2026, bringing together an exciting group of talented cricketers across the city.

The tournament holds a very significant place in the PCB’s domestic structure. For hardworking cricketers, this tournament is a pathway to higher levels. Karachi, known for its cricketing culture, possess an abundance of talent, making competition exceptionally fierce even at this level. Without a doubt, Karachi’s edition promises intense competition in these three-day matches. Young cricketers see this as an opportunity to become outstanding performers in the tournament and earn call-ups to four-day regional cricket. Even to get selected, competition is so fierce that players get to wait two to three years due to the huge number of talented players present.

The Karachi region is divided into seven zones- Zone I to Zone VII. The tournament will be played in a single-league round-robin format, where each team plays against the other six zones once. At the end of the final league match, the team with the highest number of points will be crowned the regional champions of Karachi. The top performers as mentioned earlier will go on to represent their regional sides while the departmental teams and institutions will be closely monitoring the tournament to recruit promising players.

Many, if not all, prominent cricketers from Karachi have passed through this very tournament, making it a crucial step towards professional cricket. The tournament holds a special place in the heart of those who have participated, with former players encouraging young players to seize the opportunity to showcase their talent and become a limelight.

To maintain the cause of upbringing the emerging talent, certain eligibility criteria have been enforced by PCB. Players above the age of 30 are not allowed to participate as they have already passed their prime. Additionally, those already representing senior regional teams such as Karachi Whites and Karachi Blues, as well as players holding first-class contracts, are excluded. These measures are taken to ensure the uncapped and developing players get the maximum opportunity and receive exposure.

Matches will be played across three venues in Karachi: UBL Sports Complex Karachi, Baqai Cricket Ground Karachi, KCCA Stadium Karachi. Almost all players are familiar with these venues.

RCAK wishes them all the best to be the next superstar of the Karachi region and Pakistan by displaying the high-quality cricket over the coming weeks.
