Asif Iqbal is a former Pakistani cricketer who played international cricket from 1964 to 1980. He also captained Pakistan and played domestic cricket in Karachi and abroad (notably for Kent).
He was known for his stylish batting, strong performances in foreign conditions, and leadership qualities.
Played 58 Test matches, scoring 3,575 runs with 11 centuries.
Took 53 Test wickets with best figures of 5/48.
Played county cricket for Kent and won domestic trophies in England.
Asif Iqbal played some of his domestic cricket in Karachi, contributing to the standard of play there whenever representing Karachi teams.
His style and captaincy have served as a model for younger all-rounders in Karachi.
