Karachi: Karachi Blues and Lahore Whites played out an evenly contested draw in a high-scoring encounter where centuries from Ramiz Aziz and Saad Baig highlighted the Karachi innings.
Meanwhile, Tayab Tahir’s ton ensured Lahore stayed neck and neck throughout.
Batting first, Karachi Blues posted an imposing 424 in their first innings, built around a composed 102 from Ramiz Aziz. The left-hander anchored the innings with patience and precision, stitching together valuable partnerships that gave Karachi early control. Umair Bin Yousuf added an elegant 73, while several middle-order contributions kept the scoreboard moving.
For Lahore Whites, the bowling honours were shared between Haseeb ur Rehman and Ubaid Shah, both claiming four wickets each, as they worked tirelessly to keep Karachi from crossing the 450 mark.
In response, Lahore Whites managed to edge ahead with 456, thanks to a classy 103 from Tayab Tahir, who continued his rich vein of form, and a fluent 91 from Ali Zaryab. Their partnership proved decisive in Lahore’s reply, ensuring a narrow lead despite Mohammad Asghar’s probing spell of 4 for 92, which stood out for Karachi.

In the second innings, Karachi Blues were once again lifted by one of their young stars — this time Saad Baig, who produced a magnificent 149. His innings was a blend of calm maturity and controlled aggression, steering Karachi to 360 before they were eventually bowled out. Usman Raheem’s fluent 77 provided crucial support in the middle order.
For Lahore, Mohammad Abbad was the standout bowler, finishing with 6 for 78, showcasing his ability to extract life from a wearing pitch.
With time running out and both teams having fought valiantly across four days, the contest ended in a draw — but not before Karachi’s young guns left a lasting impression.
For the Karachi faithful, it was a performance filled with heart and promise — one that underlined the depth and talent coming through the city’s cricketing ranks.
