Ghazi & Abdullah Shine as the Stars of President’s Trophy 2025–26

Wicketkeeper-batter Ghazi Ghori was named Player of the Tournament in the President’s Trophy 2025-26 after a standout all-round batting display and sharp work behind the stumps, while teammate Abdullah Fazal finished as the leading run-scorer of Pakistan’s premier first-class competition.

Representing State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Ghori produced a season defined by consistency, impact and match-winning contributions. In seven matches, the right-hander scored 531 runs across 12 innings at an average of 48.27, including two centuries and a half-century. His best knock of 138 underlined his ability to convert starts into big scores on testing first-class surfaces.

Ghori’s value extended beyond the bat. As SBP’s wicketkeeper, he effected 21 dismissals, highlighting his sharp reflexes and reliability behind the stumps. His dual impact placed him among the most influential players of the tournament and helped SBP remain competitive throughout the campaign. Ghori ended the season as the second-highest run-scorer overall, narrowly missing the top spot but earning the tournament’s top individual honour.

Apart from him, Abdullah Fazal was its most prolific run machine. The SBP batter amassed 622 runs in 13 innings from seven matches, averaging 51.83. His tally included two centuries and two fifties, with a commanding best of 182 that stood out as one of the innings of the season.

Fazal’s consistency at the top and in the middle order provided SBP with stability and momentum, allowing the side to post competitive totals across conditions.

His ability to bat long and dictate terms against both pace and spin made him a central figure in SBP’s campaign and the leading run-scorer of the President’s Trophy 2025-26.

The strong returns from Ghori and Fazal reflect SBP’s depth and balance in Pakistan domestic cricket, where first-class performances continue to shape the national talent pipeline.

With the President’s Trophy serving as a key pathway to higher honours, both batters have strengthened their cases for future selection through sustained output and big-match temperament.
