Shahid Afridi, also known as “Boom Boom,” is a former Pakistani all-rounder and captain known for his explosive batting and knack for taking wickets, particularly in limited overs cricket.
Held the record for the fastest ODI hundred (in 37 balls) for many years.
One of the highest number of sixes in ODI history.
Though Afridi is not originally from Karachi, he represented Karachi-based teams in domestic cricket. His aggressive batting inspired a generation of young cricketers in Karachi to adopt fearless styles.
