The final of the National T20 Cup 2026 has been postponed after persistent rain in Peshawar left the outfield at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium unplayable.
The showpiece match, featuring Karachi Whites and Abbottabad Region, was scheduled for Thursday but was called off without the toss taking place. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that a revised date and venue will be announced in due course.
For Karachi Whites, the delay halts momentum at a crucial stage of the tournament. The Karachi-based side have been one of the standout teams in the National T20 Cup 2026, delivering consistent performances to reach the final and now facing an extended wait to contest for the title.
The disruption follows further weather-affected action in Peshawar, where the second semi-final was also impacted. In that fixture, Lahore Whites progressed after their match against Abbottabad was abandoned.
Lahore Whites had earlier posted an imposing 194 for six, powered by Mohammad Imran, who struck an unbeaten 62 from 31 balls, alongside contributions from Mohammad Ikhlaq and Mohammad Faiq. However, Abbottabad were denied the chance to chase as rain prevented any play in the second innings.
Led by Fakhar Zaman, Lahore Whites advanced on the back of a strong group-stage campaign, finishing top with three wins from four matches.
With the final now rescheduled, attention shifts back to Karachi Whites, who remain firmly in contention to lift the National T20 title. Cricket fans in Karachi will be eagerly awaiting confirmation of the new date, hoping their team can cap a strong campaign with silverware.
