Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its latest set of domestic central contracts, with a significant representation from Karachi across all three categories.
The selection reflects both the city’s experienced campaigners and its growing pool of young talent making waves in first-class and white-ball cricket.
Below is a breakdown of Karachi’s contracted players and the roles they continue to play within Pakistan’s domestic structure:
Category 1
Mir Hamza – Left-arm fast bowler
A seasoned first-class workhorse, Mir Hamza remains one of the most consistent red-ball pacers in Pakistan. Known for his probing lines, swing, and miserly control, Hamza has been the spearhead for Karachi’s bowling attack for several seasons. He has represented Pakistan at Test level and continues to be viewed as a dependable long-format specialist.
Omair Bin Yousuf – Top-order batter

Usman Khan – Wicketkeeper Batter
Usman Khan is a impact player in all forms of the game. Last year made his debut in Pakistan team and still the part of current squad. He has contributed well for Karachi in Hanif Mohammad Trophy this year.

Jahanzaib Sultan – batting allrounder

Muhammad Asghar – Left-arm spinner

Hamza Sohail – Middle-order batter
A composed batter known for rotating strike and keeping innings stable, with signs of developing into a reliable No. 4/5.
Muhammad Taha – batting allrounder
Energetic, athletic, and confident, Taha’s versatility in the field and useful middle-order hitting make him a valuable squad player.
Muhammad Umar – Fast bowler

Saqib Khan – Allrounder

Noticeable absentee
Haroon Arshad – middle order batter
The right-handed batter had an impressive start to his career, scoring a century on debut, and scored a match-winning 41 for Karachi and National T20. He is an emerging talent from Karachi who represented Pakistan in the U19 World Cup as well. He was overlooked in this year’s domestic contract.
